Far above the world

Planet Earth is blue

And there’s nothing I can do

No post last week, but that’s not because nothing happened, just that I’ve been too busy. Saturday saw us at Nozomi’s uncle’s house, helping him out with orange picking. He has a big farm and gets professional pickers to help pick the higher graded fruit. There is quite a bit of fruit left over after that which still needs picking, and the whole family go over to help with that.

Am I sitting in a tin can

So after my fabulous haircut last week I was all set for the wedding. Of course we haven’t bothered getting an iron yet (who needs to iron jeans and t-shirts?) so we popped over to the in-laws on Friday evening to iron our fancy wear. Check ignition

and may God’s love be with you

I do feel that we are extremely fortunate to be able to do this. Our families worked hard to put us in a situation that allowed us to even consider such a trip. And we don’t have anything else tying us down yet so it seemed like a good time to give it a go.

We definitely have the love of all our friends with us. Pretty much everyone we’ve spoken to has been happy for us (with a tinge of envy thrown in perhaps). And most people say that Japan is a place that they would love to visit. Here’s hoping we get a few more people to travel to Japan.

Ground control to Major Tom

Commencing countdown, engines on

The beginning of my planned series of posts documenting my time in Japan. It was around October of 2016 that Nozomi and I decided that we are definitely going to do this. Spend a year in Japan experiencing the seasons, festivals, and all that Japan has to offer.
